People flock to stores, bakeries before lockdown
Almost immediately afterward the 48-hour curfew thousands of people in Istanbul, Ankara and other stores flocked to markets and bakeries still open for last-minute shopping on April 10.
Roads in both cities were also full of traffic, with long queues forming outside off-licenses, grocery stores and banks.

Vesic: We are ready to open SOS kindergartens
"When all this is over, this weekend will prove to be crucial," Goran Vesic says of the upcoming longest curfew.
He added that all on-call services in Belgrade work, and there are on-call teams in all public companies.
"Everything works and the city has to function," he says.

What will the longest curfew look like? VIDEO
Unlike previous weeks, the streets will be empty starting from 5 pm on Friday.
Then the curfew will come into force for the whole weekend: all citizens of the Republic of Serbia will have a complete ban on movement from Friday at 5 pm to Monday at 5 am.

Interior Ministry exempts working youth from partial curfew
Turkey's Interior Ministry has issued exemptions for a curfew imposed on youth below the age of 20, saying that those who work are exceptions.
Public employees within this age range, those who certify that they work in the private sector and seasonal agricultural workers will be exempted from the curfew.
Istanbul mulls stricter curfew rules
Authorities are considering stricter rules for Istanbul, the country's largest city by population, in an attempt to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
As part of those new measures, a curfew could be imposed for people younger than 18 years of age and privately-owned vehicles could be banned from traffic.

Cyprus imposes night-time curfew, extending coronavirus lockdown
Cyprus imposed a curfew on Monday to contain the spread of coronavirus, extending a broad lockdown introduced two weeks ago after a weekend surge in recorded cases.
From March 31, people with only some exceptions are banned from leaving their homes after 9 p.m. 6 a.m. the following morning, the health ministry said.
No curfew needed if everyone abides by rules: Minister
Turkey will not "need to" impose a full-on curfew if every citizen abides by recent rules introduced, the interior minister has said.
Speaking in an interview with a private broadcaster, Süleyman Soylu said that more drastic measures may not be needed if everybody declares their own "emergency rule."
Man detained over ageist curfew video
A man has been detained after he posted a video on social media in which he intimidated an elderly citizen by pretending to be a policeman, supposedly questioning why the old man breaking the curfew.
