1658 Liters of Illegal Alcohol was Detained on the Black Sea Coast

1658 liters of alcohol, traded and stored in violation of the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act, were detained by customs officers during inspections in the Black Sea area for only two days. Two separate inspections were carried out - at a hotel, as well as in a restaurant and tax warehouse, the Customs Agency reported.

Customs officials from Lom have retained 266 liters of home-made alcohol (rakia) after they posed themselves as customers who want to buy alcohol, officials from the Customs Agency said. Reported SEGA. 

Policemen from Vidin participated in the action. A sale of home-made rakia has been posted on two websites. The customs officers contacted the seller and agreed to buy 10 liters.

Customs seize truck full of knock-offs en route to Bosnia

Serbian Customs officers have discovered and seized "more than four tons of goods suspected to be violating intellectual property rights."

The Customs Administration announced this on Friday, specifying that a Macedonian number plates truck carrying the goods - 7,600 items, mostly clothes, bags, and shoes - was traveling from Turkey to Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Lesovo Border Crossing Open After 15-Hour Police Operation

The Lesovo border crossing between Bulgaria and Turkey was opened after a 15-hour operation against corrupt customs officers, said the Prosecutor's Office.

The operation, which started shortly before midnight on November 2, was coordinated by Chief Prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov and Vladimir Pisanchev, head of the National Security Agency (DANS).
