The first part of an art collection owned by New York real estate developer Harry Macklowe and his ex-wife Linda Burg that was put on sale after their bitter divorce fetched $676 million at auction at Sotheby's on Nov. 15 night.

Sotheby's has won the rights to sell the highly sought-after Macklowe art collection, valued at more than $600 million, the auction house announced Sept. 9.

The trove, which includes works by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and Mark Rothko, was the subject of a bitter legal dispute following the high-profile divorce of New York real estate developer Harry Macklowe and his ex-wife Linda.

Strawberries, tulips and lemons - subjects photographed by Cy Twombly from 1985 to 2008 in Rome and Gaeta - reveal how the celebrated American artist captured moments of day-to-day life with such earnestness even when he was a student, at the Gagosian Gallery through July 29.

The Museum of Cycladic Art will be reducing its admission fee and putting on a special evening from 9 p.m. until midnight on Thursday, June 8, with drinks and a DJ set from the Prudence Tapes.

Curated by Professor Nikolaos Stampolidis, director of the Museum of Cycladic Art, and Jonas Storsve of the Pompidou Center in Paris, the exhibition "Divine Dialogues: Cy Twombly and Greek Antiquity" opens on Thursday, May 25, and runs through September 3.
