The virus WannaCry, which made the biggest ever damages worldwide, has already reached computers in Sofia and Varna, announced the expert Yasen Tanev on bTV, reported Dnevnik.

He advised the victims of the cyber attack to connect with the non-governmental organization safer.bg because it is important to be understood what the virus in Bulgaria is.

The problems continue after the big cyber attack which affected dozens of countries, according to Nova Tv.

In the last 24-hours the global wave of attacks is "at an unprecedented level", this is written in an Europol report. Those attacks require a serious international investigation for identifying the hackers, pointed also the Agency.

A global cyber attack use hacking tools believed to have been developed by the U.S. National security Agency (NSA) hit tens of thousands of computers worldwide, reported Reuters.

The cyber hackers tricked victims into opening spam emails which appeared to contain security warnings, job offers and invoices.

A website which allowed Britons to register to vote in last year's European Union referendum might have been targeted by foreign hackers causing it to crash before the deadline, a committee of British lawmakers said on April 12.

Sources from the Energy Ministry claim that a major cyber-attack is the source of the widespread electricity cuts across Istanbul in recent days, according to reports in the Turkish media.

The USA announced the deportation of 35 Russian diplomats as a retaliation for the cyber-attacks Obama is accusing Russia of. The diplomats were given 72 hours to leave the country.

Also two facilities the American authorities claim that were used to facilitate the attacks are shutting down.

Cyber attacks from Russia are now so common that Germany must learn to cope with them as part of daily life, Chancellor Angela Merkel said Nov. 29, after Europe's top economy suffered its biggest hacking assault.  

Montenegro's government says it splans to strengthen cyber security and the capacity of police and intelligence services to prevent hacking attacks after events on election day on October 16 highlighted how vulnerable the whole system is.

Advances in information technologies and the increase in the use of the Internet have drastically changed human life. The biggest transformation has in fact occurred in cyberspace and a substantial amount of information has already been moved to online storage. These changes undoubtedly create various opportunities as well as challenges, not only for individuals but for states as well.
