Shopping sale days to bring 60 billion Turkish Lira boon to retail industry

November's shopping spree is expected to boost the sales of both physical and online retailers by as much as 60 billion Turkish Liras (around $6.2 billion).

Retailers are keenly waiting for the Singles' Day on Nov. 11, the "Legendary Friday" on Nov. 26 and the Cyber Monday on Nov. 29.

Legendary Friday is the Turkish equivalent of Black Friday.

Americans Spent USD 7.9 Billion Online During Black Friday

Americans set a record for purchases on Thursday and Friday, buying goods and services for a total of USD 7.9 billion, according to mediapool.

Internet sales during this year's Black Friday are 17.9% more than last year, according to Addaub Digital Insight data. The company monitors sales information in the 100 largest online stores in the United States, quoted by Reuters.

With Black Friday less than 24 hours away, many major retailers are offering shoppers great post-Thanksgiving deals of up to 80% off their regular prices. Some of the big names participating in this year’s shopping frenzy are Public, River West, Media Markt, Factory Outlet, Gap, Οysho, Germanos and Plaisio.

A double cyber attack on Greek banks has been taking place with precision over four days. A group of hackers has launched therats against the e-banking systems of three Greek banks seeking a ransom in bitcoin. Meanwhile, there are leaks of Greek debit and credit card data that  have been used for transactions with the United States in recent days.
