Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades blamed this week's breakdown of United Nations-backed negotiations at the Swiss resort of Mont Pelerin on a lack of "flexibility" by the Turkish-Cypriot delegation but insisted he's ready to pick up where talks left off.

Ankara, Athens seek ways to revive failed Cyprus talks
The Turkish Foreign Ministry called on all parties of the Cyprus talks to determine a date for an immediate five-party conference, with the participation of Turkey, Greece and the United Kingdom as guarantor powers, along with the island's two communities, amid a parallel continuation of negotiations.

The latest round of Cyprus talks collapsed once again due to what Turkish Cypriots claimed were the "maximalist demands" of the Greek Cypriot side, and Greek Cypriots lamented the uncompromising position of the Turks. Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akıncı has most probably earned the title of being "the saddest Cypriot."

Turkish Cyprus blames Greeks for failure of peace talks
Turkish Cyprus has blamed Greeks and Greek Cypriots for the failure of long-anticipated peace talks to end one of the world's longest running conflicts.
Cyprus reunification talks yield no results
The United Nations announced on Tuesday that negotiations between Cypriot Greeks and Turks on reuniting Cyprus have failed.
Reuters is reporting that the talks in Switzerland between Greek Cypriot leader Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci lasted for two days.

Cyprus talks fail in Switzerland
Despite high hopes that a deal could be achieved, negotiations between the legal government of Cyprus and the northern Turkish-Cypriot community at the Mont Pelerin resort in Switzerland ended without any progress, after the two sides failed to reach an agreement on the territorial aspect of the dispute.

Cyprus peace talks fail to produce solution
"Despite their best efforts, they have not been able to achieve the necessary further convergences on criteria for territorial adjustment that would have paved the way for the last phase of the talks," said a statement issued by the U.N. spokesperson in Cyprus.
