Czech national identity card

Starting from 8:30 AM today, Monday, the new platform id.gov.gr is operational.

Citizens can easily and user-friendly schedule digital appointments for the issuance of a new type of identity card or for its replacement due to changes in personal information, expiration, wear and tear, or age.

According to data from the Ministry of the Interior, there are currently 52,052 Bulgarian citizens lacking both an up-to-date permanent address and a valid identity card. Of these individuals, 2,291 are between the ages of 14 and 18, while the remaining 49,761 are adults.

An amendment concerning photographs on the new identity cards issued by Greek authorities has alarmed professional photographers and prompted their union to call a nationwide strike on Monday.

Turkey has passed a new law to introduce a new version of identity cards for its citizens, as part of steps toward becoming a European Union member state.
