Paris names street after David Bowie
The city of Paris on Jan. 8 named a street after rock music icon David Bowie, a first in honor of the singer eight years after his death.
"Rue David Bowie" was officially inaugurated in the capital's 13th district on the left bank of the city.

Sting sells entire songwriting catalog to Universal
Sting has sold his songwriting catalog, including solo works as well as hits with The Police like "Roxanne," to Universal Music Group, the company said on Feb. 10, the industry's latest such blockbuster transaction.

Bowie painting from donation bin up for auction
A painting by British pop icon David Bowie recently discovered at a Canadian store that resells donated goods had frantic bidders lining up on June 15 for a chance to own it.
The computer and acrylic collage on canvas is part of the so-called D Head series of portraits of the Ziggy Stardust rocker himself, his friends and others that he painted between 1995 and 1997.

Queen's Guitarist Wants a Second Live Aid
Queen's guitarist Brian May is hoping for a big concert similar to Live Aid in 1985, but this time dedicated to fighting climate change. The rock band was part of the music show featuring U2, Phil Collins, Madonna, Elton John, David Bowie, Mick Jagger and many other popular musicians. The concert was broadcasted in over 150 countries and watched by nearly 1.5 billion viewers.

David Bowie Statue Unveiled in Aylesbury
A statue of David Bowie has been unveiled in the town where he debuted Ziggy Stardust.
The bronze sculpture, entitled Earthly Messenger, can be found in Aylesbury's Market Square.
It features a likeness of Bowie in 2002 regarding a selection of his alter egos down the years, with Ziggy at the front.
