Death of the Bytyqi brothers

Serbia reopened its investigation into the Batajnica police training centre, where hundreds of bodies of Kosovo Albanians were found buried, searching for another mass grave at the site.

Investigators have failed to find more corpses of Kosovo Albanian victims during a renewed search at a quarry in southern Serbia where 45 bodies have already been exhumed. 

Lawyers for the relatives of Ylli, Agron and Mehmet Bytyqi, who were killed in Serbia in 1999, have filed a complaint to the UN, demanding “Serbia’s compliance with its international obligation to investigate and prosecute those responsible for the disappearance and murder of the brothers”.

A website has been launched to campaign for justice for the three Bytyqi brothers, who were killed by Serbian forces 15 years ago after going to fight for the Kosovo Liberation Army.
