Before email and messaging, we had regular mail and envelopes, which candidates for the national or European Parliament would send off to voters, only so they could form huge piles in the entrances to our apartment buildings.

A research team from the University of Bern has managed to precisely date pile dwellings on the banks of Lake Ohrid in the south-western Balkans for the first time: they came into being in the middle of the 5th millennium BC. The region around the oldest lake in Europe played a key role in the proliferation of agriculture.

Stari Trg pri Ložu – The Slovenian acrobatic group Dunking Devils has pulled off another dizzying and breakneck feat. This time, they were jumping from a height of 17 metres onto a huge pile of hay. The backdrop for this “leap of faith” was provided by Snežnik Castle.
