Unofficial historical registry of Turkish diplomacy on table shelf
An antique table at the Turkish embassy in London has shed light on a succession of diplomats for nearly 113 years, excluding a gap of six years in the 1960s, former and incumbent ambassadors have said.
The first signature on the table's shelf was put in 1907 by "First Secretary M." (Başkatip M.)

Warding off the bad spirits

Every winter, following the Orthodox Church's celebration of the Epiphany, locals in several villages across the Balkans perform such animalistic masquerades and ritual dances to ward off evil spirits and awaken the coming spring.

Repatriated Kosovo Woman Found Guilty of Joining ISIS
The Pristina Basic Court sentenced Syria returnee Qendresa Sfishta to a two-year suspended sentence on Thursday for participating in a terrorist organisation after she pleaded guilty to the charges.
Kosovo Man and Woman Indicted on Syria Terror Charges
The Special Prosecution on Monday charged a woman, identified only by the initials A.M-Z., and a man, identified as A.K., with involvement in terrorist groups.
The prosecution said that A.M-Z. voluntarily travelled to Syria in 2014, together with her husband and daughter, in order to join terrorist organisations ISIS and Al-Nusra.
Sorras trial postponed after defendant snubs proceedings
The trial of Artemis Sorras, who had promised to wipe out the debts of Greeks during the country's financial crisis, started on Wednesday but was postponed until November 18 after the self-declared billionaire failed to turn up.

Byzantine treasure found in Çanakkale
Sixty-eight gold coins, dating back 1,700 years, have been unearthed in excavations at the Temple of Apollo Smintheus in Gülpınar village of Ayvacık district in the northwestern province of Çanakkale.
