40 years ago today a Bulgarian song launched into space on NASA's Voyager 1.

The Golden Record, including "Izleel e Delyo Haidutin" performed by Valya Balkanska, is still traveling through space. Valya was 35 years old when her voice took off for the stars. Today, the singer from the Rhodope Mountains is 75.

Hollywood Might Have Violated Valya Balkanska's Similarity Rights

Hollywood has violated not the author's but instead ''substantial similarity'' rights when using the traditional Bulgarian folklore song Izlel e Delyo Haydutin performed by Valya Balkanska.

The statement was made by Peter Delchev, a member of the Board of directors of Musicauthor - the company responsible for music licenses on Bulgarian songs.
