Bulgaria - One of the EU Countries with the Highest Share of Elderly Population

Eurostat: Which EU Countries have the Highest Marriage Rates?
In 2018, the European Union (EU) countries with the highest number of marriages relative to the population were Cyprus (7.8 marriages per 1 000 inhabitants), Romania (7.4), Lithuania (7.0) and Latvia (6.8). These were followed by Malta (5.8), Slovakia (5.7) and Denmark (5.6), Eurostat reported.

In 2017, the largest share of people who say they could not afford to heat their home was recorded in Bulgaria - 37 percent, according to a Eurostat survey, quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio.
Eurostat: EU Population up to Nearly 513 million on 1 January 2018
On 1 January 2018, the population of the European Union (EU) was estimated at 512.6 million, compared with 511.5 million on 1 January 2017.
