Greece ageing at alarming rate, study shows
According to a study conducted by New York-based NGO ‘HelpAge International’, Greece is a ‘demographic ticking time bomb’. The data published in Greek newspaper ‘Kathmerini’ revealed that the population of Greece is ageing at an alarming rate, while it is turning into one of the most dangerous place for pensioners to live in.

Bulgarian Population May Slump to 5 Million
Bulgaria's population could fall to just over 5 million by the last quarter of this century, taking it back to the same population level that the country had in 1920.
The alarming forecast comes from the country's National Statistical Institute, which is studying the Balkan country's demographic prospects.

Montenegro Urged to Stop Gender-Selective Abortions
The Council of Europe's human rights commissioner Nils Muiznieks called on the Montenegrin authorities on Sunday to educate health professionals and adopt strict guidelines in order to prevent selective abortions.
According to the UN, some 100 girls are born for every 110 boys in Montenegro, while the usual ratio is 100 to 102-104.
