The verdict handed down to retired geologist Jim Fitton, shocked the court in Baghdad, including his defense attorney. He and his family have argued that Fitton, 66, had no criminal intent.

Iraqi Minister: Sumerians built first airport 5,000 years ago
BELGRADE - Iraqi Minister of Transport's popularity in world media rapidly increased after his statement that ancient Sumerians, thousands of years ago, traveled to Pluto with their spacecrafts. Necropolis unearthed beneath Istanbul's Pera
Eight Byzantine-era tombs have been unearthed during the restoration of a building bearing the name famous Italian national hero Giuseppe Garibaldi on ?stiklal Avenue in Istanbul?s Beyo?lu district. It was the first time such tombs were discovered in the area, according to officials.

An engineer working at Turkey's leading defense system producer Aselsan was found dead at his house on Jan. 15 in Ankara, Cihan News Agency has reported.
Works end in Stratonikeia
