Digital transformation

BELGRADE, Dec 28 (Tanjug) - Serbia is the absolute regional leader in science, digitalisation and innovation, Minister of Economy Slobodan Cvetkovic said at a presentation of Serbia's progress in digitalisation, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (PKS) Digital Transformation Centre.

While the need for Greece's digital transformation and companies' investments in technology have led to an explosion in demand for IT executives, the country does not employ enough workers in this sector. It even registers a negative lead compared to other European countries

Ljubljana – Emilija Stojmenova Duh, the candidate for minister of digital transformation, has pledged to build on what has been done well in the field in the past. Her priorities would be to narrow the digital divide and pave the way for society’s effective digital transformation, she told the relevant parliamentary committee before getting its nod Saturday.

The approval for the cabinet is currently receiving the bill for the modernization of e-EFKA, which attempts to redesign the operation of the fund on new "sound bases".

Ljubljana – Presenting his bid to the parliamentary Home Affairs Committee, Mark Boris Andrijanič, the candidate for minister without portfolio for digital transformation, said he would strive to realise as many of the recently unveiled digitalisation proposals as possible. Digitalisation is key for becoming a modern country, he stressed.

Brussels – The Covid-19 pandemic having accelerated the digital transformation, one of the pillars of the recovery of Europe’s economies, digital services and artificial intelligence (AI) have become major priorities for the bloc. Slovenia’s EU presidency hopes to achieve progress on these dossiers.

Turkey can take a much stronger place with the EU in the post-pandemic era, said the head of the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜSİAD) on April 27. 

The chairman of the Authority for Romania's Digitization (ADR), Octavian Oprea, and the head of the Code4Romania Board of Directors, Bogdan Ivanel, signed on Monday, March 8, a Partnership Agreement which consolidates the cooperation between the two organizations for the digitization of the public administration of Romania.

Ljubljana – Public Administration Minister Boštjan Koritnik emphasised the role of connectivity in a successful digital transformation, as he addressed the Regional Forum for Europe on Meaningful Connectivity, organised by International Telecommunication Union with the support of his ministry.
