Code Red Alert Issued for Eastern Bulgaria over Possible Wildfires
A Code Red warning is in force on Saturday for a number of regions of Eastern Bulgaria, the weather department with the Bulgarian Academy of Science has said.
Greek ports note a decrease in passenger traffic
Passenger traffic in Greek ports fell by half a percentage point in the fourth quarter of 2014, compared with the same period in 2013, said the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) on Friday. Domestic passenger traffic totaled 6,114,935 in the fourth quarter of 2014, falling from 6,023,531 in 2014, a decline of 1.5%.

People flock to streets as earthquake hits Turkey's south
People took to the streets, with many of them rushing to hospitals, after a 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit Turkey?s Mediterranean Sea at 1:00 a.m. on July 30 off the Mersin bay and was felt in the southern provinces of Mersin, Adana, Hatay and Osmaniye, with no casualties reported.
Investigation to Confirm Whether Debris Found in Indian Ocean Part of Missing MH370
Malaysia sent a team to determine whether the debris, which was recently found on the French island of Reunion in the Indian Ocean, is from the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370).
The piece of wreckage, which measures two metres in length, washed up on the island late on Wednesday, the BBC reports.

Earthquake in the NW Peloponnese
A 4.3 on the Richter scale earthquake has hit the western port city of Patras,, northwest Peloponnese, at 7.10 p.m. (17.10 GMT) on Sunday.
Patras is the 3rd largest city of Greece after the capital, Athens, and Thessaloniki. The epicenter was located approximately 48 kilometers south of the city. So far no damages have been reported.

EU Grants EUR 1.9 M to Bulgaria for Flood Recovery
The European Parliament on Tuesday approved the allocation of EUR 1.9 M in flood relief under the European Union Solidarity Fund.
Bulgaria was affected last year by flash floods which claimed more than a dozen lives and left hundreds of houses damaged or destroyed.

Gracanica officials condemn attacks on Serbs in Kisnica
Mayor of Gracanica Vladeta Kostic strongly condemned the latest attacks on Serb families in Kisnica near Gracanica, in the vicinity of Pristina.
The attacks on Serbs in Kisnica were one of the main topics at last week's meeting of Gracanica's Safety Committee, reads a statement issued by the information service of the Municipality of Gracanica on Monday.
Turkish Tragedy: 15 killed in road accident (pics)
15 people were killed in western Turkey after a fatal accident between two trucks today. One of the trucks was varying workers. Besides the fatalities 2 more people were injured when the two trucks collided head on.
