BELGRADE - The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Executive Board decided on Thursday to raise the key policy rate by 25 bp to 5.75 pct, keeping the deposit facility rate at 4.50 pct and raising the lending facility rate to 7.0 pct.

The monetary policy interest rate will stay put at 1.25 pct per annum, decided on Friday the Board of the National Bank of Romania, also maintaining the current levels of minimum reserve rates for the liabilities in lei and currency of credit institutions.

The Board of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) decided today to keep the benchmark interest rate unchanged at 1.25 pct per annum, the central bank said in a release. The monetary authority also decided to maintain the deposit facility rate at 0.75 pct per annum and the lending facility rate (Lombard) at 1.75 pct per annum.

The Board of Directors of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) decided, in Friday's meeting, to reduce the monetary policy interest rate to 1.75% per year, from 2% per year, starting with June 2, informs the central bank.

The Turkish Central Bank said on March 9 it was cutting its one-week forex deposit interest rates, triggering gains in the lira after a week of sharp declines driven partly by worries over political pressure on the bank.

The Board of Romania's Central Bank (BNR) decided on Wednesday to slash the key interest rate from 2.75% to 2.5% as of January 8, according to a release issued for AGERPRES.
