The Aegean Regatta kicks off on August 19, starting from Kalymnos and taking in Nisyros, Tilos and Halki before racing for Rhodes. Celebrating its 24th year, the regatta promises exceptional sailing and aims to showcase the beauty of the Dodecanese islands. The event will feature a variety of cultural and artistic activities for all ages to entertain visitors, sailors and island residents.

Don't you have the same proverb?" a woman from Kusadasi on Turkey's western Aegean coast, eating at the table next to ours on the island of Agathonisi asked the waiter, making a circle with her hand. "I bet she means 'Birds of a feather flock together,'" the Greek owner of the restaurant tells us.

Turkish tourists can now visit Leros, Lemnos, Kalymnos, Kastellorizo and Symi as of Tuesday part of the "visa express" program after the Aegean islands became part of the initiative.

The Dodecanese-bound Blue Star Patmos ferry was forced to return to the port of Piraeus on Tuesday due to a medical emergency concerning a 69-year-old citizen.

The The Blue Star Patmos had embarked from Piraeus and was to make stops at the islands of Patmos, Leipsoi, Leros, Kalymnos, Kos, Symi, and Rhodes.

No details concerning the patient's health have been made available.
