Turkish F-16s violate Greek airspace 5 times

Turkey is continuing its belligerent stance towards Greece, as two more Turkish F-16 fighter jets and a military helicopter violated Greek airspace on five occasions. The Turkish aircraft were armed during their flights into Greek airspace and two engaged in dogfights with Greek F-16 fighters. Two infringements of the Athens FIR were also recorded on Thursday.

Dogfights between Greek and Turkish F-16s over Aegean Sea

Greek and Turkish fighter jets engaged in dogfights over the Aegean Sea, when a pair of Turkish F-16 jets violated Greek airspace on Friday. A total of 6 violations were recorded, 5 of which were flights over the Greek island of Panagia at 10.44am. Greek jets scrambled and intercepted the intruders, four of which were armed. There were also three infringements of the Athens FIR.

Turkish jets violate Greek airspace in the Aegean

A formation of four Turkish fighter jets violated Greek air space three times in the eastern Aegean on Monday afternoon.

Two F-16s and two F-4s entered the Flight Information Region shortly before 2 p.m. south of Lesvos.

Shortly after 2 p.m., the two F-16s flew over Makronisi with the F-4s flying over Agathonisi, at an altitude of 19,000 feet, a minute later.

Turkish jets chased out of Greek air space

Three Turkish fighter jets, two of which flew in formation, entered the Athens Flight Information Region (FIR) on Tuesday and violated Greek national air space over the central Aegean.

Authorities said they engaged in two mock dogfights with Greek fighter jets that were scrambled to intercept them before they left Greece's air space.

Turkey violates Greek airspace 36 times in one day

Six Turkish fighter jets and two CN-235 maritime patrol aircraft entered Athens’ FIR on Monday without submitting a flight plan, violating the Greek airspace 36 times in different regions of the Aegean.

Athens’ FIR also recorded five more violations of air traffic rules, while two of the Turkish aircraft were armed.

Greek and Turkish fighter jets engage in Aegean dogfights

Greek and Turkish fighter jets were involved in a mock dogfight over the Aegean on Tuesday in the first such incident during the last month.

Two Greek F-16s were scrambled to intercept a formation of six Turkish Air Force planes that flew into Greek air space without permission 35 miles southeast of Kastelorizo.
