Conservation society condemns mass poisoning of dogs in Florina
The Arcturos brown bear conservation society has reported and condemned the mass poisoning of dogs in the northern Greek region of Florina, where the organization is headquartered.
In a post on social media, Arcturos reported that at least 26 dogs - the majority working dogs belonging to local shepherds - were found poisoned to death in the areas of Sklithro, Aetos and Nymphaio.
Baby mauled by Rottweiler dog
Police on Thursday were investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal mauling of a 3-month-old girl by her family's Rottweiler at their home in Glyka Nera, northeastern Athens.
The infant was pronounced dead on Thursday morning after her 35-year-old mother rushed her to the Paidon Hospital in Penteli.

Man who dragged dog with car arrested in Crete
A 73-year-old man was arrested in the town of Rethymno on the island of Crete for tying a dog to the back of his car and dragging it along a road.
The man, who faces charges of animal cruelty, was tracked down by police after a witness posted a photo of the incident, showing the vehicle's license plate, on social media.

Dog killer nabbed in northern Greece
A 45-year-old man has been charged with the fatal poisoning last week of two stray dogs in the region of Aridaia in Pella, northern Greece.
Police launched the investigation after being informed of the poisoning by animal rights activists who also reported the incident on social media.
The suspect is accused of feeding the dogs with food laced with poison.
