Starting tomorrow, Thursday (8/8), the capability to automatically create and submit real estate data declarations (E9) will be extended to more cases of gift tax declarations and parental provision of real estate, submitted through the myPROPERTY application. This follows the decision by the Governor of the Independent Public Revenue Authority, George Pitsilis (A.1130/2024).

The level of blood donations in Türkiye remains insufficient, a senior official from the Red Crescent has reported, calling for an urgent increase in contributions.

From July, the E9 property tax declaration will be filled in automatically for all cases of donations and parental concessions of real estate carried out through the myPROPERTY platform.

The scheme started last year with the automatic completion of the E9 form in cases of real estate sales and was extended to certain cases of parental benefits and donations.

Even in a year marked by the absence of major crises or disasters, Bulgarians have continued their tradition of charitable giving, as evidenced by a comprehensive survey conducted by the "Alfa Research" agency on behalf of the Bulgarian Donor Forum (BDF).

For civil society to function properly, it needs autonomy. The state should not stifle the activities of charitable organizations.

However, it seems that the minimum conditions to carry out a public benefit action and to accept and manage donations must be ensured. These organizations should at least have legal status so that rudimentary accountability to the authorities is possible.

The increase of the tax-free threshold for parental concessions and donations to 800,000 euros each and for property transfers, many of which are carried out in cash, have activated the monitoring mechanism of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), which will root out violations of tax legislation.

The Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, one of the three bridges connecting Istanbul's European and Asian sides, was illuminated in green to draw attention to organ donation on Nov. 9.

Within the scope the Organ Donation Week, celebrated between Nov. 3 and Nov. 9 every year, different kinds of activities are carried out to mark the importance of organ donation.

A blood donation drive being coordinated by the government, a charity and a hospital in a bid to respond to the heightened need for blood due to the coronavirus pandemic got under way at the Athens Olympic Stadium (OAKA) in Maroussi, northern Athens, on Tuesday. 

The conservative opposition leader on Wednesday slammed a decision by a teachers' union in central Greece to turn down a private donation in protest at the alleged commodification of the country's public education system.

The Magnisia branch of the State High School Teachers' Association (ELME) has turned down a donation by the Bodossakis Foundation, one of Greece's largest privately-owned public benefit organizations.

In a statement, ELME said that it "rejects the logic of donations [because] it substitutes the state's responsibility and obligation with regards to the operation of public schools."
