Turkish, Italian defense ministers discuss security issues

Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar discussed with his Italian counterpart on July 13, bilateral and regional security issues and the latest developments in Afghanistan, Libya and the Eastern Mediterranean, according to the Turkish National Defense Ministry.

The meeting between Akar and Lorenzo Guerini in Istanbul was constructive and positive, it said.

Ukraine wants to double trade volume with Turkey:

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on April 16 that Turkey and Ukraine have a trade turnover of $ 5.5 billion and "we want to double it." 

Ukraine has "a good relations with Turkey today," Zelensky said in an exclusive interview with French daily newspaper Le Figaro when asked about his recent visit to Turkey and meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Turkish defense minister holds talks with British counterpart

Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar met with Britain's Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace in London on April 8.

Wallace welcomed the visiting Turkish minister at the Horse Guards building in Embankment, before Akar inspected troops.

Wallace and Akar, later on, walked to the Defense Ministry offices to hold bilateral talks.

Turkish, US defense chiefs discuss cooperation

The defense chiefs of Turkey and the U.S. held a phone call on April 1, discussing regional security and bilateral defense cooperation.

Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin exchanged views and underlined the significance of strategic relations during the talk, according to Turkey's National Defense Ministry.

Turkey, Bosnia sign military financial cooperation deal

Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a military financial cooperation agreement on March 3 in the Turkish capital Ankara.

The defense ministers of the two countries signed the deal following talks on bilateral and regional defense, security, and cooperation in the defense industry, according to a statement by the Turkish National Defense Ministry, 

Turkey, Russia eye cooperation in space industry

Russia and Turkey are preparing a bilateral agreement for cooperation in the space industry, according to the Russian space agency on Feb. 10. 

The agreement is expected to lay "a solid foundation for the further successful cooperation between countries in the field of space," the Russian TASS news agency quoted Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities as saying.
