Djokovic beats Etcheverry to advance to Paris Masters third round

PARIS  - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world number one in men's tennis singles, is through to the Paris Masters third round after a 6-3, 6-2 win over world number 31 Tomas Martin Etcheverry of Argentina on Wednesday evening.

Djokovic, who won after an hour and 25 minutes of play, is now 2-0 head-to-head against Etcheverry.

Djokovic to lead Serbia at Davis Cup Finals, Cacic replaced by Medjedovic

BELGRADE - The head coach of the Serbia men's national tennis team Viktor Troicki on Monday announced the Serbia squad for the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga, the Tennis Association of Serbia said.

In a statement, it said Troicki had made one change in the lineup compared to the Davis Cup tournament in Valencia, replacing Nikola Cacic with Hamad Medjedovic.

Djere defeats Kwon to give Serbia Davis Cup win over South Korea

VALENCIA - Serbian tennis player Laslo Djere defeated South Korea's Soonwoo Kwon 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 in the second match of a Davis Cup Group C first round tie between Serbia and South Korea in Valencia on Tuesday evening.

Djere won after two hours of play to give Serbia a decisive 2-0 lead and a win in the tie.

Earlier, Dusan Lajovic beat Seong Chan Hong.

Lajovic, Kecmanovic suffer early Wimbledon exits

LONDON - Serbians Dusan Lajovic and Miomir Kecmanovic are both out of Wimbledon following first round defeats in the men's singles event on Monday.

Lajovic lost to Briton Jan Choinski 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2, 6-2 after two hours and 37 minutes of play, while Kecmanovic was defeated by Argentine Diego Schwartzman 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 after two hours and six minutes of play.

Novak Djokovic is officially back on top

Djokovic tops the new ATP lit with 8,045 points, followed by Rafael Nadal with 7,480, and Roger Federer (6,260).

Djokovic completed his impressive comeback by qualifying for the final game of the Paris Masters. He eventually lost the match to Karen Khachanov of Russia - but earned 600 new points and emerged at the top of the ATP list for the fourth time in his career.

Lajovic beats Lacko to advance to Indian Wells second round

INDIAN WELLS - Serbian tennis player Dusan Lajovic is through to the second round of the Indian Wells ATP tournament after beating Slovak Lukas Lacko 6-4, 6-4 on Friday.

Lajovic, who won after 84 minutes of play, will next face South Korean Hyeon Chung, who was seeded in the first round.
