The Macedonian Church Backed the Friendship Agreement between Sofia and Skopje

The Holy Synod of the Macedonian Orthodox Church officially supported the Friendship and Neighborhood Treaty between Bulgaria and Macedonia, which was signed on 1 August in Skopje by the Prime Ministers of the two countries - Boyko Borisov and Zoran Zaev.

Alll pharmacies closed on September 14 in Attica due to official religious holiday

All pharmacies across the region of Attica will be closed on September 14 due to the celebration of the Eastern Orthodox Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which an official holiday for pharmacies. Citizens will be served by the on-call or overnight pharmacies, as listed by the Attica Association of Pharmacies.

Many Tourists will Spend the Night at Rila Monastery before Assumption of Mary

Dozens of tourists chose to spend the night in Rila Monastery for the upcoming celebration of the feast day of the Assumption of Mary, which Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrates on 15th of August, reported the Bulgarian National Television. 

Many people have decided to spend the night in tents close to the monastery and attend the morning liturgy to pray for health.

Millions sent from church charities to cash-strapped hospitals

The Apostoli charity of the Athens Archbishopric and the International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC) organization have donated 15 tons of medical supplies worth more than 2 million dollars to the Attica region's health department in aid of cash-strapped hospitals and medical centers.
