The government has decided to include legal entities that lease out properties to companies benefiting from the 80% rent cut in its landlord support program, as it realized that they too have suffered a huge blow.

Property owners have serious concerns about the level of the compensation they will get for their revenues lost to the 40% rent cuts instructed by the government in favor of the companies and employees hurt by the pandemic. They also want to know how, precisely, they will be compensated.

The Finance Ministry is finalizing measures to ease the burden on property owners too, saying the tax discount will not be the same for all landlords affected by the rent discounts, while offering some details about how the Golden Visa program may resume.

The range of coverage of the 40 percent discount on rent payments for the month of April for enterprises and workers has been expanded according to an amendment the government has tabled in Parliament.
