Extreme Winds Wreak Havoc in Turkey, Killing Six

Turkey Detains Suspected Historical Artefact Smugglers in Nationwide Raids

"The first historical artefact smuggling operation against income gained from smuggling in the history of the republic was launched in 30 cities, and 72 of the 96 people under suspicion were detained," Turkish Police said, Anadolu Agency reported.
The operation, codenamed Anatolia, was launched after a two-year investigation by KOM.
Serbian women's basketball national team reached the quarterfinals!
Serbia goes to the quarterfinals as the second-placed team from Group A, where it finished group stage behind the leading Spain. Canada also advanced further, while South Korea dropped out.
Turkish journalist receives Spanish Order of Merit
Journalist, academic and columnist Professor L. Doğan Tılıç has been honored by Spanish authorities with a Civil Order of Merit for his successful career as a member of the press.
Tılıç received the Civil Order of Merit on June 15 from Spain's ambassador to Turkey, Javier Hergueta Garnica, at the embassy in Ankara.

Serbia's existing legislation on access to information provides a good framework - at least in theory - for those seeking to hold government to account. In practice, of course, it is routinely undermined and ignored by authorities determined to undermine transparency.
