Turkey became a model country whose policies give hope to millions of people in its region, according to the nation's interior minister.

Speaking to private news channel A Haber on Feb. 20 night, Süleyman Soylu said Turkey, under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's leadership, mapped out its own path in the face of the challenges and uncertainties of the new world order.

Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said on April 13 that he will not leave office after his resignation decision was rejected by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on late April 12.

Turkey will continue to fight against FETÖ inside and outside the country, the interior minister said on July 27.

A court in Ankara on April 19 sentenced 10 suspects linked to the 10 Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) to several jail terms for illegally bugging the office of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2014 while he was prime minister.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on April 9 said Turkey would "help Kyrgyzstan in the fight against FETÖ," referring to what the authorities call the Fetullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ), widely believed to be behind the July 2016 coup attempt.
