A Fire near Barcelona's Sagrada Família Cathedral, there are Injured

A fire broke out near the Basílica de la Sagrada Família in Barcelona, ​​Spain, according to the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

26 people were injured in the incident, one of them is in serious condition. 13 people were taken to hospital.

There are no reports of injured Bulgarian citizens as a result of the fire.

Spanish police have evacuated and cordoned off one of Barcelona's main tourist attractions, the Sagrada Familia basilica, as part of an anti-terrorist operation.

A bomb squad was sent to check a van parked next to the church, but police later said it was a false alarm.

Nearby shops had also been evacuated as a precaution.

A van has ploughed into crowds in Barcelona's Ramblas tourist area, reported BBC. 

Spanish police say several people have been injured in a "massive crash", while emergency services are urging people to stay away from the area around Plaça Catalunya.

Reports from the scene say people are taking cover in nearby shops and cafes.
