Istanbul’s dams hit lowest water levels amid rain shortage
The water level in Istanbul's dams has fallen to 29.92 percent, the lowest in a year, after months of insufficient rainfall.
This marks a sharp decline from April's average of 82.62 percent, with three dams — Alibeyköy, Kazandere and Pabuçdere — now below 10 percent of their full capacity. Elmalı Dam is the only one above 50 percent, at 51.61 percent."

Chief adviser of presidency appointed to UNESCO post
Gülnur Aybet, a senior adviser to the Turkish Presidency, has been appointed as the permanent representative of Turkey to UNESCO.
The decision of the appointment was published in the Official Gazette on Nov. 20.
Emlak Konut plans to rake up Turkey’s property market
Turkey's real estate investment trust Emlak Konut GYO is poised to put about 35,000 houses on the market starting from the final quarter of this year, its CEO has said.
"We are planning to start selling [houses of] 12 new projects in Istanbul in the final quarter of this year," daily Hürriyet quoted Hakan Gedikli as saying on Sept. 25.
Heavy rain, hail hit Istanbul’s Asian side
Heavy rain and hail hit some districts of Istanbul's Asian side, particularly Çekmeköy and Sultanbeyli.
Residents of those affected areas covered their vehicles with carpets and blankets to protect them from the hailstones.
Motorists in Çekmeköy had to take cover under a bridge to wait for the heavy rain and hail which lasted for some one hour with intervals.

Court cancels access road plans for Istanbul's third bridge
An Istanbul court revoked an amendment on June 11 for the construction plans of the access roads to Istanbul?s third bridge, which is being built in the northern part of the city. The court?s move may halt the bridge?s progress, as the construction of link roads will lose their legal ground.
