El Salvador stadium stampede kills 12

Twelve people were killed on May 20 in a stampede at an El Salvador stadium where football fans had gathered to watch a local tournament, police said.

Authorities said initial reports pointed to a crush of fans who tried to enter Cuscatlan Stadium in the Central American country's capital San Salvador to watch a match between teams Alianza and FAS.

7.2 magnitude quake strikes off Central America coast

BELGRADE - A 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck off the Pacific coast of Central America. It was felt in several countries across the region. The US Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami warning.

"Hazardous" tsumani waves are possible within 300km of the quake epicenter along the coasts of Nicaragua, El Salvador and Honduras, the Center specified.
