US Federal authorities are investigating incidents of fires at two ballot drop boxes in the Portland area of Oregon, as well as a separate fire in the nearby Vancouver area of Washington, according to CNN reports. The Portland Police Bureau indicated that officers responded to a fire at a ballot box around 3:30 a.m. local time on Monday, where an "incendiary device" had been used.

On October 27, Bulgarians will vote in parliamentary elections with 19 parties, nine coalitions, and one independent candidate from Pleven on the ballot.

A total of 6,601,262 citizens are eligible to vote in the seventh parliamentary election in just three years, according to official registers by the Civil Registration and Administrative Services (GRAO).

On October 27, 2024, Bulgarians will head to the polls for early parliamentary elections. These are the seventh such elections in the last three years and the second to take place in 2024, following the June 9 vote, which coincided with the European Parliament elections.

Polling stations opened across Europe on Sunday as voters from 20 countries cast ballots in elections that are expected to shift the European Union's parliament to the right and could reshape the future direction of the world's biggest trading bloc.

A total of 18,380 polling stations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voting hours may be extended in individual stations if there is a waiting line at closing time.

6,593,275 Bulgarian citizens are eligible to vote in the upcoming early parliamentary elections, while 6,138,050 are entitled to participate in the European Parliament elections. The variation in numbers stems from the specific requirements for each election.

More than 8,000 Greek citizens living abroad have registered on the platform for postal voting within the first two days of its operation, while there is also great interest from domestic voters.

Registration for the June 9 European Parliament elections must be completed 40 days in advance, by April 29, 2024. 

The mail-in ballot will be used for the first time in Greece at the European Parliament elections in June, after its vote in parliament, the government said.

The relevant bill by the Interior Ministry has been posted for public consultation until January 10, and will be tabled in parliament shortly after.
