Bulgarian Parliament to Discuss Anticorruption Law at First Reading
The Bulgarian Parliament will discuss at first reading the law on preventing corruption among high-level public officials on Friday.
The legislation has to guarantee that the fight against corruption will be conducted in a new way and through a new body.
Turkey's Great Normalization
There are two kinds of countries in the world. Ones where the election results are revealed after the ballots are counted and ones where results are known long before the first vote is cast. Turkey for sure belongs to the first category. We are no Ukraine, no Egypt.

Witnesses Back Defendant in Bulgaria’s 2013 Illegal Ballot Papers Case
Workers at the "Multiprint" printing house have testified in court in favor of the sole defendant in the case concerning the illegal ballot papers discovered on the eve of the early elections on May 12, 2013.
The case is tried in the Sofia City Court under fast-track proceedings, as requested by the defendant, Rosen Zhelyazkov, former Chief Secretary of the Council of Ministers.
Interior Minister Vows “No Mercy” for Vote Buying in October Elex
Caretaker Interior Minister Yordan Bakalov on Monday vowed “no mercy’’ for vote buying at the upcoming elections and ruled out a repeat of Kostinbrod fake ballots scandal.
Bulgarian Interior Ministry to Open Electoral Fraud Hotline
Starting May 20, the Bulgarian Interior Ministry will open a hotline (982-22-32) for any issues linked to election fraud.
The hotline will be open until the end of the European elections day on May 25, Chief Interior Secretary Svetlozar Lazarov revealed. Any violations that are reported will be submitted to the Prosecution.
