DEDDIE proposes new measure against electricity theft
Electricity detected as stolen will be charged at double the current market price.
At the same time, those who commit electricity theft will retroactively pay for the stolen energy from the date the theft is considered to have started, while they will also cover the administrative costs for detecting the theft (labor, spare parts etc).
Power consumers not benefitting from zero cost of RES electricity
For 173 hours from the beginning of the year until September, electricity prices on the wholesale market were almost zero and for 11 hours they were actually below zero, which is attributed to the large penetration of renewable energy sources.

"Green" residential electricity tariffs are reduced by 6-17% in October, while two suppliers (Heron and Protergia) have kept the prices stable for the fourth month in a row.
The prices range from 13.974 to 18.558 cents per kilowatt hour, while 12.062 cents is the charge for PPC's night tariff.

Power rate subsidy set for September
The subsidy on household electricity tariffs has been set at 1.4 cents per kilowatt-hour for September, Energy and Environment Minister Thodoros Skylakakis said in an interview with Mega TV on Tuesday.
This way, he said, the retail prices (based on the tariffs announced on Sunday by the providers) will fluctuate at the same levels or a little lower compared to August.

The subsidy on household electricity tariffs was set at 1.4 cents per kilowatt-hour for September, Energy and Environment Minister Theodoros Skylakakis said on Tuesday.
The retail prices (based on the tariffs announced on Sunday by the providers) will fluctuate at the same levels or a little lower compared to August.
At 1.4 cents per kilowatt hour the subsidy on September electricity bills
Retail electricity prices are down slightly from August and the subsidy will be 1.4 cents per kilowatt hour.
As a reminder, prices in the September “green” electricity tariffs were announced by suppliers in the early hours of Sunday morning.
