Three suspected ATM robbers nabbed in Athens
Police in northeastern Attica on Monday arrested three suspected members of a racket believed to have been breaking into ATMs in buildings accommodating public services.
Officers detained two Georgians, both aged 27, and a 37-year-old Albanian man in raids in the Athens neighborhood of Patissia and in Elefsina, western Attica.

Local reactions have driven BSH away

Two more bodies found, bringing Attica flood death toll to 19
The death toll of the flash floods that hit the areas of Mandra and Nea Peramos in western Attica on Wednesday, has risen to 19 after the coast guard announced at 11 am that two more bodies were washed up on the shores of Elefsina.
Number of missing from floods at six, as death toll rises to 16
Six people have been reported missing from Wednesday's floods in western Attica, while the number of confirmed deaths rose to 16 on Thursday morning.
The majority of the casualties were residents the seaside towns of Mandra and Nea Peramos, which suffered serious flooding on Wednesday. A few were motorists who drowned in their cars or were swept into the sea.
Theodore | Elefsina | September 29
Composer and multi-instrumentalist Theodore, whose music strikes a balance between classical and electronic sounds, is performing at the Aeschylia Festival in Elefsina on Friday, September 29. The concert at the Old Olive Oil Mill (Palaio Elaiourgeio) starts at 8.30 p.m. and admission costs 5 euros.

Knife attack on mayor not job related, initial police reports suggest
Elefsina Mayor Giorgos Tsoukalas had to undergo surgery Monday after being stabbed in the thigh by a 35-year-old former local authority employee, although investigators do not believe the attack was work-related.

Yiannis Aggelakas | Elefsina | August 23
Yiannis Aggelakas and his band 100ºC, currently on tour with their new album, will be performing at the old olive oil factory in Elefsina, western Attica, on Wednesday, August 23, one of many events the town has planned in the run-up to 2021, when it will don the European Capital of Culture mantle. Greece faces fines over waste management
Greece has been condemned for a second time by the European Court of Justice for lack of proper wastewater management in the Thriasio area of western Attica. A second condemnation by the court comes with a fine, whose amount was not determined as the final ruling on this case will take place toward the end of the year.
