Maribor uni and hospital team up to make Covid tests recyclable
The Maribor Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the University Meical Centre Maribor are involved in a project that will make it possible to recycle rapid antigen tests. The single-use Covid-19 tests are currently treated as hazardous waste and incinerated, wasting €15,000 per million tests in plastic and gold.

Free testing to be available along Italian border
Ljubljana – The government has decided to launch a free-of-charge testing campaign near border crossings with Italy. Rapid antigen testing will be available from Wednesday for commuters, students being schooled across the border and owners of property across the border.

Public agency looking into suitability of rapid antigen tests
Ljubljana – The Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices has decided to carry out an extraordinary inspection of the suitability of the rapid antigen tests the Health Ministry purchased in December from the company Majbert Pharm. The decision comes after suspicion has been raised in the public about the reliability of these tests.
Children with special needs return to school
Ljubljana – Children with special needs will return to classrooms today after nearly three months of remote schooling. After employees were tested for coronavirus, it is expected that the majority of these specialised schools open for in-class instruction.

Prof. Kantardzhiev: Loss of Smell Forecasts Milder Course of Covid-19 Infection
The loss of sense of smell is forecast for a mild course of the novel coronavirus infection, Prof. Todor Kantardzhiev, Director of the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases, said as quoted by Focus Agency.
He explained that usually COVID infection develops more slowly and its incubation period is longer.

People no longer want to make PCR tests since antigen tests are available, President of the Association of General Practitioners in Sofia Region Dr. Viktoria Chobanova said on BNR.

PCR and antigen tests are by no means the same. PCR tests are much more sensitive and specific, which is why they have been used as the "gold standard" so far and were the only ones that we could rely on.
