ELTA

The vicious cycle of ELTA

The services of the Hellenic Post (ELTA) were not at a satisfactory level even before the leak of their customers' data was revealed in March 2022.

It is a state-owned company that still has a key mission to perform, especially for the most inaccessible regions of the country. But for this to happen, the vicious cycle of failed "restructurings," which only costs taxpayers, must end.

Making state firms flexible

National Economy and Finance Minister Kostis Hatzidakis is planning changes to the public companies of the Superfund to make them modern and competitive, with interventions on three fronts: administration, procurement and recruitment.

Bulgaria’s Dronamics and Hellenic Post (ELTA) sign an Agreement for the First Postal Deliveries by Cargo Drones in Greece

Dronamics, the world's first cargo drone airline licensed to operate in Europe, and Hellenic Post (ELTA) have announced an agreement that will lead to the first postal deliveries by cargo drones in Greece.

Without compromises

The state has financed Hellenic Post (ELTA), the country's largest postal operator, to the tune of hundreds of millions of euros, but the services it offers are not commensurate with the expenditure.

Post office vans torched

Two Hellenic Postal Service (ELTA) vans parked on a central street in the northern port city of Thessaloniki were torched by arsonists in the early morning hours of Saturday.

Police detained five people for questioning but later released them.

ELTA changes top management

Greece's state assets fund appointed Polychronis Griveas and Elias Athanasiou as the new president and CEO, respectively, of troubled state-owned Hellenic Post (ELTA), during Thursday's general meeting.

Griveas previously headed the management of Astir Palace Vouliagmeni and Athanasiou was CEO of Enterprise Greece, the state-owned body that promotes Greek exports.
