Emir of Qatar

The emir of Qatar today expressed his “full support” for Lebanon, assuring that he has ordered aid to the stricken country, where Israeli bombing has caused hundreds of deaths and nearly 1.2 million displaced people, according to an account by Lebanese authorities.

Greece and Qatar signed two bilateral agreements on Wednesday, during the meeting of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Maximos Mansion in Athens.

The president of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, and the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on Tuesday expressed their mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral relations during the emir's first official visit to Cyprus.

The emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, is expected in Athens early next week for an official visit.

The visit comes after Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis' trip to the emirate's capital, Doha, at the end of February and is part of the effort to bring the two countries closer together economically and diplomatically.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is in Doha on Saturday where he is meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, to discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip and the problems caused by the disruption of safe navigation in the Red Sea.

Expanded talks between the delegations of the two countries will follow.

Today was the last day of President Radev's official visit to Qatar where he was at the invitation of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
