Bulgaria’s Crisis-Stricken Businesses Will Receive State Support until End-May 2021
The Bulgarian government has extended until the end of May the measures known as "60/40" and "80/20" payroll support for employers in the sectors affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The "Keep me" measure to compensate employees of closed businesses is also being extended, providing an additional EUR 12,300 million from EU funds.
Government to grant loans to firms expanding workforce
Within the scope of a new economic reform package, micro and small-sized businesses that increase the number of employees on their payrolls will be granted loans between 100,000 and 500,000 Turkish Liras ($13,200 and $66,100).
Romanian meat workers in Germany to conclude direct employment contract with employers

Nearly 90 percent of large and medium-sized enterprises affected by the Covid-19 crisis have fully or partially resumed operations in the first week after the lifting of the state of emergency.
This is shown by the data from the CITUB monitoring of over 100 companies in the whole country, announced the national secretary of the union Todor Kapitanov.
New voluntary redundancy schemes at OTE
OTE telecom will be implementing two new voluntary redundancy programs at the end of the month.
The programs concern more than 400 employees across the various departments and subsidiaries of the group and will cost a total of 55 million euros, or about €130,000 per departing employee on average.

Boeing, a US aircraft giant, is considering a plan to cut about 10% of its employees, as the company is experiencing serious difficulties because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Wall Street Journal reports.
According to a financial statement, the aircraft manufacturer's plan includes early retirement, but also forced redundancies mainly in its commercial area.

Turkey to ban layoffs for three months to ease COVID-19 impact
The Turkish government is planning to ban layoffs for three months in a bid to protect those lacking job security and to ease damages to the economy due to the coronavirus outbreak, according to a draft legislation.

1,752 employees voluntarily leave civil service
1,430 employees at the central level and 322 at the local level applied for a public call for a consensual termination of employment with severance pay.
The heads of authorized bodies will decide on the requests of interested employees for a consensual termination of employment by September 30, 2019.
