Energy certificate required for advertised properties
As of Friday, January 1, listings for properties being put up for sale or rent will need to include their energy classification, according to a circular released on Tuesday by the Environment and Energy Ministry.
Some building permits on Mykonos, Santorini frozen
The issuance of new building permits for tourist facilities in areas outside town planning on the islands of Mykonos and Santorini has been suspended for one year.
The relevant decision, which was announced 10 days ago, was signed by Deputy Environment Environment Minister Dimitris Economou.

Ottoman fountain to be brought to life
A historical fountain built in 1909 by the Ottoman Sultan Mehmet Reşad in the Marmara province of Yalova will be restored.
The fountain, which has a height of 3.65 meters and a width of 2.20 meters, is located in the village of Güneyköy, where the grandchildren of people who migrated from Dagestan in the 1880's live.

Demolition of landmark statue divides Edirne city’s residents
The demolition of a statue located on the busiest street in the northwestern province of Edirne has sparked a debate among the residents of the city, which borders Greece and Bulgaria.
Saraçlar Street, which is the busiest street of the city, was closed to traffic in 2008 and a statue called Sevda Çeşmesi (Love Fountain) was erected in the middle of the street a year later.
