Three more suspects have been arrested in the investigation launched into the assassination of the former head of the ultra-nationalist group, Grey Wolves, bringing the total number to six.

Eray Şamdan of Turkey won a silver in men's 67kg karate at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on Aug. 5.

It is Turkey's first ever Olympic medal in karate.

The 24-year-old lost to France's Steven da Costa 5-0, who achieved a gold.

Şamdan won a bronze and gold at the European Karate Championships of 2019 and 2021 respectively.

Six Turkish personnel who were abducted on April 11 from their ship off Nigeria's Port Harcourt have been released, a lawyer of their shipping company said on April 25. 

Fehmi Ülgener wrote in a statement that the abducted personnel of the ship, ?lkay Olgun, Haluk Buran, Furkan Topcu, Mehmet Babacan, ?ükrü Dömbek and Eray Falay, were set free and in a good health condition.

The 148-meter tanker belonging to Kaptano?lu Denizcilik was attacked while it was traveling at 4 a.m. on April 11.

A Turkish film titled "Mavi Bisiklet" (Blue Bicycle) will compete at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. Directed by Ümit Köreken, the film will compete in the "Generation Kplus" category, the main theme of which is children and youth, to win the "Crystal Bear Award."
