Erdemli

Works are ongoing across several ancient cities in Türkiye as preparations move forward to open more historic sites to tourism, including the ancient city of Tralleis in the western province of Aydın which is expected to be opened to visitors in 2025.

In Mersin's Erdemli district, a painting activity was organized in order to reduce the traumatizing effect of the earthquakes on quake survivor children.

Following the earthquakes which left Türkiye in mourning, Mersin is one of the cities that received the highest number of migrants with tens of thousands of quake survivors coming to Erdemli, a tourism district.

Monumental tombs of the Roman era in the ancient geography of Cilicia in the southern province of Mersin are defying time. But experts are saying some of these structures, dating back to the 2nd century, should be restored as soon as possible, as they face the danger of collapse.

The municipality in the southern province of Mersin's Erdemli district has banned people from smoking shishas (water pipes) and doing barbecue in public spaces by the sea if such activities are considered disturbing for others.

Officials have pushed the button on a project for the restoration and environmental arrangement of the ancient city of Akkale, an olive oil production and exportation center in the late Roman era in the southern province of Mersin's Erdemli district.  

The 4.5-kilometer Roman-era King?s Road in Mersin is being cleaned for restoration work.
