On Christmas Eve at the Jazzet Music Hall (99 Stratigou Karaiskaki, Haidari, tel 210.581.5626), composer and pianist Jula Jannaki will present an intriguing set of classical piano compositions in which she explores the concept of contradiction. From Persian melodies to Erik Satie, Kyriakos Sfetsas and Eleni Karaindrou, Athens-born Jannaki will take her audience on a personal musical journey.

Mezzo-soprano Amalia Avloniti and baritone Kostis Mavrogenis perform works by 19th and 20th French composers at the Greek National Opera's Olympia Theater Foyer on Sunday, January 8. The evening's program includes songs penned by Erik Satie and Maurice Ravel, among others. The singers will be accompanied by pianist Dimitris Vezyroglou. The recital starts at 6 p.m.

Classical music works by Bach, Mozart and Satie are given an Eastern spin by Panos Dimitrakopoulos (kanun), Thomas Constantinou (oud) and Dimitris Tsakas (saxophone) at the Onassis Cultural Center on Wednesday, November 2. The concert is part of the OCC's Hellenic Project series. Starts at 9 p.m. and admission costs 12 euros (10 euros reduced, special rates for groups).
