Weather: Cool with strong northern winds – Temperature rises tomorrow

Evia: 35-year-old forest worker dies after being crushed by tree
A tragic incident occurred in the Telithrio area of northern Euboea on Tuesday morning (September 17), where a 35-year-old forest worker was crushed by a tree.
The man was performing logging activities when, according to information from evima.gr, it appears that the wire mesh came loose from the tree trunk and fell on him, resulting in his death.

Lightning strikes spark 24 fires
Lightning strikes on Friday afternoon sparked 24 fires across the country, the fire service has said.
A total of 72 fires broke out in the last 24 hours in wooded and agricultural areas, mainly in the Peloponnese, Skyros, Attica, Viotia and Evia, of which 50 were dealt with immediately, the service added.
Firefighters are continuing to combat 22 fires.

Traffic accident in Evia: Two dead and one injured after collision between car and truck
Another tragedy struck the roads of Euboea on Friday afternoon when a car crash resulted in the deaths of two young people.
The accident happened shortly after the traffic lights in Lampsakou, Chalkida, when the car, under unknown circumstances, collided head-on with a truck.
Wildfires erupt in eastern Attica due to lightning
Two wildfires ignited by lightning Friday afternoon are burning in Kalyvia Thorikou, eastern Attica.
Firefighters have dispatched 36 personnel, 13 vehicles and one helicopter to control the blazes. Volunteers are assisting.
