Another 6,000 Layoffs After Coup Attempt in Turkey

Ankara will revoke the citizenship of Turks living abroad who do not show up for interrogation when subpoenaed.

This is the regulation introduced by three new decrees adopted by the government within the framework of the state of emergency in the country after the unsuccessful coup attempt on July 15, 2016.

Kyrgyz Mashrapov Denies Involvement in Istanbul Attack

Kyrgyz citizen Iakhe Mashrapov, who, according to Turkish media, might have been involved in the attack against the night club in Istanbul, has stated that he has nothing to do with the attack, reported RIA Novosti, cited by focus agency.

Earlier, Turkish media reported that the 28-year old Mashrapov is suspected of the attack. A photo of Mashrapov even appeared in social media.

Individual arming jumps in Turkey

The individual acquisition of arms is rising in Turkey, with the number of registered and unregistered personal guns up tenfold in the past decade. 

Most of the weapons are unlicensed, according to a report published by daily Cumhuriyet on Dec. 25. The daily also said the reason for the move to acquire arms is the lack of "feeling of security in Turkey."
