European Arrest Warrant

A 62-year-old foreign national was detained on Thursday on a European arrest warrant on the national highway connecting the southern cities of Patra and Pyrgos.

According to police, he is wanted by Swiss authorities for the repeated sexual abuse of minor.

The suspect has been remanded in custody pending his extradition.

Acting on a European arrest warrant, the Romanian authorities arrested Stevan Budac for alleged genocide and “terrorist acts” against Croats and Hungarians in eastern Croatia in 1991.
