Tainiorama | Athens | May 16 - July 3
More than 140 films that have been screened and/or awarded at leading European film festivals such as Cannes and Berlin make up the seven-week annual Tainiorama film panorama, taking place at the Asty cinema in downtown Athens from May 16 to July 3. There will be three screenings every night - starting at 6 p.m. - with films organized according to theme.

Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett is to chair the jury that will pick the award winners at this year's Cannes Film Festival, reported BBC.
She is "a rare and unique artist with talent and conviction", the Cannes Film Festival organisers said.
Romanian Tribute | Athens | To April 12
The Astor Cinema is hosting a tribute to Romanian cinema, presenting the country's best recent films, through Wednesday, April 12. The daily screening program starts at 5.40 p.m. with Palme d'Or nominated "Graduation" by Cristian Mungiu, who shared the Best Director award at Cannes last year with Olivier Assayas. It is followed at 8 p.m.

Star-packed Berlin film fest promises laughs in dark times
Penelope Cruz, Hugh Jackman, Catherine Deneuve, Richard Gere and Robert Pattinson are among the high-wattage stars due on the red carpet at the Berlin film festival, organizers said on Jan. 31 as they revealed the lineup.
The 67th Berlinale is the first major cinema showcase in Europe each year and presents nearly 400 productions from around the world.
Phaedra(s) | Athens | December 20-22
The Onassis Cultural Center welcomes acclaimed French actress Isabelle Huppert in Polish avant-garde director Krzysztof Warlikowski's "Phaedra(s)," which will be staged at the Stegi on December 20, 21 and 22. The three-hour, 10-minute performance starts at 8 p.m. Admission ranges from 15 to 48 euros (special rates for students, unemployed and groups).
