Romania's Transgaz signs MoU on development of natural gas networks in Eastern Europe
Romania's Transgaz national natural gas transmission corporation signed on January 28 a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Partnership for the Development of Natural Gas Networks in Eastern Europe (EE-NGP), according to a press statement released on Friday to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). The memorandum was signed by all the entities that are members of the project.
Six international consortiums express interest in DESFA stake
There were expressions of interest from Europe, the USA and Qatar on Monday for a majority stake in Greece's natural gas transmission system operator DESFA.
The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED) managed to attract the interest of six bidders for the 66 percent stake in the gas firm. Most of the investors are from Europe.

Sources from the government and the state sell-off fund (TAIPED) express their optimism for the first stage of a tender for the privatization of gas grid operator DESFA that is to be completed on Monday with the expression of interest from potential investors.
Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Hungary to link gas grids
Gas companies from Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Hungary agreed to link their gas networks to increase security of supplies in southeastern Europe, the Bulgarian energy ministry said.
Grid operators Bulgartransgaz, DESFA, FGSZ and Transgaz as well as Greek-Bulgarian ICGB signed a memorandum of understanding for the project in Bucharest on Wednesday.
OMV Interested in Using Bulgarian Pipes to Transport Romanian Gas
Austrian OMV has asked Bulgarian state-owned gas transmission operator Bulgartransgaz about opportunities to transport natural gas from Romania via Bulgarian gas pipelines, according to Georgi Gegov, CEO of Bulgartransgaz.
