Bulgarian nationalist party Ataka may request the annulment of the European Parliament elections on May 25.

Center-right GERB has kept its 11-percent lead on the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) in the European elections as 100% of the voting protocols have been processed.

GERB has received 30.40% of Sunday's votes, with the ruling BSP trailing second as it gained 18.94%.

The polling stations across Bulgaria opened at 6 AM on Sunday morning for the elections for European Parliament. 

The 11 685 sections in Bulgaria and abroad are open till 7 PM, but the law provides for an extension of one hour, if there are people, willing to vote at the locations.

The Czech Republic, Latvia, Malta and Slovakia are heading to the polls on the third day of the European elections, Saturday.

The UK and the Netherlands held elections on Thursday, Ireland voted on Friday, while the rest of the EU member states, including Bulgaria, will exercise their right to vote on the last day of the European Parliament Elections, Sunday May 25.

European Liberals have distanced themselves from the controversial nomination of Bulgarian MP Delyan Peevski for the European Parliament elections.
