Brexit Can Go Ahead After House of Lords Votes Bill Through
Parliament has passed the Brexit bill, paving the way for the government to trigger Article 50 so the UK can leave the European Union.
Peers backed down over the issue of EU residency rights and a meaningful vote on the final Brexit deal after their objections were overturned by MPs, according to Reuters.
The bill is expected to receive Royal Assent and become law on Tuesday.
Brexit Bill: Ministers Expect MPs to Reject Changes
British MPs in the House of Commons will vote today on whether to accept or reject the approved by the House of Lords amendments to the Brexit bill. If the amendments are rejected and the Lords agree with this decision, in theory Theresa May on Tuesday may declare the ''divorce'' with the EU.
